This event will help you understand how your organization can embrace Kubernetes in your enterprise. During the morning session, you will hear presentations from Google, Rancher, GitLab, and Aqua that outline strategy and best practices for enterprises adopting Kubernetes as a strategic platform. In the afternoon sessions, you will see a deep-dive from each of the organizations on building a complete Kubernetes Platform, focused on introducing tools and technology.

Morning Strategy Sessions

  • 8:30-9:00 am: Registration and Breakfast
  • 9:00-9:20 am: Welcome and Agenda
  • 9:20-9:50 am: Hybrid Cloud Computing with GKE Google
Google pioneered the adoption of containers in production and has been a leading force in the development of Kubernetes since its inception. In this session we’ll discuss how organizations are leveraging Google Cloud Platform’s hosted Kubernetes service, GKE, to implement hybrid cloud computing.
  • 9:50-10:20 am: Building an Enterprise Container Strategy with Kubernetes Rancher
Kubernetes sits at the intersection of DevOps and ITOps, and is creating exciting new opportunities to accelerate development, improve application delivery, and simplify operations. In this session we’ll look at how organizations are implementing Kubernetes as an IT service and discuss best practices for managing clusters across different infrastructure.
  • 10:20-10:30 am: Break-Coffee
  • 10:30-11:00 am: Building an automated dev/ops strategy with containers GitLab
Kubernetes is an incredible engine for delivering reliable IT operations, and it is an ideal platform for organizations adopting DevOps. In this session, GitLab will discuss how developers and Dev/Ops teams are connecting their development pipelines directly to Kubernetes, and dramatically accelerate development velocity, and improve release frequency.
  • 11:00-11:30 am: Developing an Enterprise Security Strategy for Kubernetes Aqua
As Kubernetes becomes a critical enterprise computing platform, ensuring consistent security across the platform is critical. In this session, we’ll look at implementing a layered approach to container and Kubernetes security, and how organizations are ensuring they address compliance requirements with Kubernetes.
  • 11:30 am-12:00 pm: Wrap-up/Q&A-Panel
  • 12:00-12:40 pm: Lunch
  • Afternoon Technical Deep-Dives

  • 12:40-2:00 pm: Demo - Building an Enterprise Container Service with Kubernetes Rancher/Google
During the first demonstration, we’ll be setting up an enterprise Container Service using Rancher and using it to deploy and manage multiple Kubernetes clusters. We’ll be using both GKE and other infrastructure services, and discussing day operations, including policy management, monitoring, logging, and user management.
  • 2:00-2:20 pm: Break-Coffee
  • 2:20-3:20 pm: Demo: Automating DevOps on Kubernetes (CI/CD, Deployments, etc.) GitLab
Once our Kubernetes infrastructure has been deployed, we’ll be deploying GitLab and connecting it to our Kubernetes clusters. We’ll then look at how to develop a CI/CD pipeline, automate testing, and deploy to Kubernetes directly from our pipeline.
  • 3:20-4:20 pm: Demo: Securing Containerized Deployments Aqua
In our last session, we’ll demonstrate how to build a comprehensive security framework using Aqua on top of our existing Kubernetes infrastructure. We’ll be looking at all aspects of container security, including image scanning, runtime security, network security, and managing security policies.
  • 4:20-5:00 pm: Wrap-up and Q&A
